The Société de promotion des artistes acadiennes et acadiens sur la scène internationale (SPAASI) is looking for proposals from artists in various artistic fields (music, dance, circus, theatre, media arts, visual arts, literature) and gastronomy to bring these Pavilions to life.
The Pavillon Acadie will be set up to allow groups, companies or performing artists to perform on stage in the heart of the festivals. Mini-concerts or shows will be held, as well as art exhibitions and screenings, and any other proposal.
Please find below the provisional list of Acadia Pavilions planned for the year 2023:
- April – International Festival in Lafayette from April 26 to 30, Louisiana
- May (new date)– Rendez-vous Acadie-Paris from at the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris
- July – Pause Guitar from July 6-9, Albi, France
- August – 250th anniversary of the return of the Acadians to Poitou-Charentes, and Festival interceltique de Lorient from August 4 to 15
- October – Lafayette Acadian and Creole Festivals from October 13 to 15, Louisiana
- September – October - Belgium

REMUNERATION AND COVERAGE
- A fee of $2,000 will be paid to each selected group, company or solo artist;
- The SPAASI will take travel expenses (flight, car, train,…) for a maximum of 1 800$ per person, accommodation fees and meals for a maximum of 5 days at 134$ per day (max. 670$) will be covered.

“Pavillon Acadie” is an initiative of the Société Nationale de l’Acadie (SNA) carried out in collaboration with its partners. Throughout the year several pavilions will showcase the Acadian artists and educational institutions and promoting Acadia as a tourist and immigration destination as well as a prime economic partner. The Pavillon Acadie promotes Acadian culture and offer discovery and networking opportunities for participants.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND SELECTION

ELIGIBILITY
Interested artists must meet the following eligibility criteria before applying. Only applicants who meet these criteria will be considered.
- The artist must first and foremost:
- Be a professional artist;
- Be in the early stages of career development and be linked to at least one recognized professional structure;
- Have demonstrated a desire to work internationally and be available to do so;
- Offer an artistic formula adapted to the concept of the pavilion and the event;
- Provide a press kit and technical file for the event.
- Artist must have a valid passport and be eligible to travel to country(ies) requested;
- Be available on the dates of the pavilion(s) requested, including travel time;
- With some exceptions, a music artist must have released an album or EP within the last 24 months prior to the event date;the performing artist must have produced a performance in the last 18 months.
- Once selected, the artist will:
- Confirm his/her participation and if applicable the names of the accompanying members;
- Provide the technical file (adapted to the concept of the pavilion);
- Provide a list of shared rooms (twin room);
- Provide all relevant information for airline bookings.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- The selection criteria are:
- Export potential of the artist: 20%;
- Capacity and preparedness of the artist/agency to work in an international context: 10%;
- Relevance of this showcase in the context of the artist's career development: 20%;
- Style in the context of the Pavillon/Festival: 50%.
- Priority will be given to artists:
- That meet all criteria;
- Artist selection will be made by jury;
- Artist selection may be made by considering the financial resources granted by the various provincial governments for the pavilion;
- Province of residence of the artist could be considered in the selection made by the jury;
- Eligible applications will be reviewed by a jury with the objective of reaching a consensus in the final selection of artists.

Application must be sent to Société de promotion des artistes acadiennes et acadiens sur la scène internationale, and include a paragraph explaining interest in this mission, as well as a link to an audio recording or an artist's portfolio, a press kit and a technical file, no later than :
